Had to wake up damn early today to help out at Fort Canning Centre. There is this Arts event over there and supposedly I volunteered for it (which actually I didn’t!). There’s only me, Huihui and Xiu Bin in my class who will be going. According to the instructions, the journey from Clarke Quay MRT to the place will be 5 mins. While the journey from Dhoby Ghaut will be 10 mins. So obviously we picked to stop at Clarke Quay. But ended up both I and Huihui have no idea how to read the location map and we have no idea how to get to the place. Called Ms. Sam and she did not pick up. And we were already 15 mins late! Walking around not really sure where we are until Ms. Sam called me back. And gawd there’s sooo many stairs for us to climb. After climbing a whole lot of stairs, there’s more signage directing us to yet another set of stairs or an uphill slope. By the time we reach the exact location, I was sweating and was really tired. Ms. Sam was really nice though. When I kept apologizing she was like, ‘its okay, there’s still time.’ With a smile on her face!

So we met the main person IC, Annie. We were briefed about our job. My job is supposed to be stage/survey which I have no idea what it means. Annie told me that there is nothing to do on stage so only survey bit that is when there is more people. And at that point of time there is really no one. So I and Huihui ended up sitting at the food stall. The things sold are the usual tidbits but with more expensive prices. We sat there and talk. Damn slack. Was damn starving as well. And when lunch came they bought me something different as it has to be halal. It’s really bland. And there’s a whole fish which is kind of stupid actually because how am I supposed to eat fish with bones without using hands?? Then we were told to give out flyers about the event as there is nothing for us to do. Me, Huihui, Ninette (05), Wei Min and Michelle (both year 2) were given the job. Seriously I was glad to be able to do something as sitting down, talking and earning free CIP kind of sucks. We had to give out a whole stack of it. But ya luckily people are not like Ili Nadiah Bte Jamaluddin who doesn’t take flyers. Managed to give out all of the flyers. Went back and walked around the gallery selling all handicraft things. There is really nice and unique necklace being sold BUT is super expensive! Me and Huihui bought this tingy made from clay in which our name can be written on and it can be worn as necklace. It’s also a whistle! I think it is damn cute and it is really cheap. 3 bucks only! Lol. Oh ya the paintings were nice too.

Damn tired and I will have to do the same thing again tomorrow. Haiz.
