d flowers uncle ali received
Woke up late today and had to make Busu wait for me. But I got ready at a record time! Within 20 mins I bathed, choose my clothes, changed, wear make up. And I was wearing full make up, complete with eyeliner some more! Because I know that I will spend the whole day at the event and I might be meeting important people so of course I have to look my best right…so to do that within 20 mins was really VERY fast!!
Went to Katong Mall to take some posters and then Uncle Ali came to fetch us and we made our way to Esplanade. I got my security pass and it made me feel sooo important! Haha I’m a liaison officer!! Discovered that we have a dressing room all to ourselves. It’s not that big but it has a toilet (and not every room has one) and the facilities is like a hotel’s. There are even chic-looking chairs in the room. We had the first rehearsal but I was practically nodding off because I was too sleepy. Did not watch much of the performance. I was with Busu at the subtitle room. And trust me it wasn’t easy at all!! She has to make sure that the translated words have to come out the same tome as when the sentence is spoken. For this she has to listen really closely to what the actors are saying because there is no other cues whatsoever. Went back to the room and ate the breakfast provided which is bread that taste like French loaf and curry chicken with three huge chunks of chicken and one potato that doesn’t really taste like curry. But I guess it’s alright. The lunch actually came but I was still having breakfast. Haha.
Then the students’ matinee show was about to start and we had to move out. Anyway the whole place was freezing cold and despite wearing jacket, the cold was still biting through my skin. There aren’t any nice looking mamats around. Joining this kind of Malay events actually provides me the opportunity to get to know more Malay people as I’m surrounded by Chinese people in school. And I speak English a lot and when I speak Malay it sounds really funny! But ya the place were infested with minahs and not good looking mamats. Haiz bummer. The show went well as I was there to cue Busu as she cannot see the small screen. Nina came and we met her after that.

After that which was only about 2+, we had free time all the way until about 6. Of course Ili nadiah being Ili nadiah took pictures of the room, the toilet and me. I was really slacking. Yixin msged me about RS homecoming and I have to go. After sooo long of not meeting my friends, this is the time for us to gather and have fun! Haha. Of course some people were really reluctant when I asked them. Spoilsports! But in the end I think most of my classmates are coming.
Made a date with Gary tomorrow to study constructions at the library. I can study at home I guess but its nice to have someone to discuss it with. And furthermore he has past year paper for construction.

tis is sooo funny!!
At around 6.30, we’re told to move to our respective locations. At the room, Busu was very panicky and couldn’t sit down. There is this guy, Yusri, who is the Esplanade staff and he is supposed to escort us to and fro the room. BUT he damn slack la I think. During the rehearsal don’t know where he goes. Then during the student’s matinee show, he slept throughout the whole show and during the real show he is busy playing with his PSP. Damn easy la his life…me and Busu kept a lookout for our family (mama, kakak, nenek, nina and wani) who is coming for the event. We got the good seats for them. It costs 48 bucks la. During the show, it went off smoothly. BUT I spotted a spelling error. Pakistani is spelt as Pakstani without the i. and I spotted it like the third time after I saw it so I don’t think the audience realized it after all. Anyway it was a huge relief when everything was over. But I didn’t do much actually just making sure that I read the stuffs that Busu cannot see. Uncle Ali received flowers in which I was given to hold when Busu and him go and meet the PM or something like that. I waited for super long and people must be thinking what the hell is this girl doing here standing like some goon. Busu came and we went to meet our family. At first we wanted to go home together with them but the room was still locked and we didn’t know when Uncle Ali will come with the keys.
Waited some more for Uncle Ali to come (which takes a super long time!). Then we started clearing the room to bring back home. The people working together for this event are really not nice at all. There’s this woman who barged in our room without knocking and wanted to use our toilet when there’s a public one just across the hall. Busu was inside and she later told us that she purposely took a long time. It is our room after all! Sooo annoying la.
We went to supper and New Hawa Restaurant which I don’t exactly know the location as we were inside the car. I ate black pepper chicken rice which is not really nice. It was already like 1+ la. Sooo sleepy. Then they drove me back first and we nearly lost our way as everyone was sleepy including the driver! Reached home around 2+ and was sooo sleepy that I went straight to bed.
